OUTREACH

about outreach ministry

We’re passionate about working together to make a greater Kingdom impact. Below you can learn about how we are doing that both locally and globally.

Local Partners

‘For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Matthew 25:35-40

Serving is not something we do to check off a box, but rather it’s a lifestyle to adopt. Our goal and prayer is that serving in your community would be an integral part of your life.

Whether you are wanting to serve with your group or you are individually looking for a way to serve, this is a great place to start. To find out about organizations in our community that you can serve with, click below.

  • Hopeprint seeks to unify diverse communities rich in culture and connectedness to prosper in place through family empowerment programs, community advocacy and neighborhood activation. Our CNY efforts are focused on a 30-block micro-neighborhood located in Syracuse's Northside, home to the majority of newly resettling refugees, established New Americans and generational Americans alike.

  • David’s Refuge works to provide respite, resources and support to parents and guardians of children with special needs or life threatening medical conditions where they will be refreshed, restored and renewed in their role as caregivers. Our vision is to one day become a community nationally recognized for empowering caregivers to lead their families with strength and grace. Through year round respite weekends, events, and education we hope that all caregivers will be reminded that they are not alone, that what they do matters and God and this community loves them.

  • Pass Da R.O.C.K. exists to redefine the realities of inner-city youth through community outreach and mentorship. Our vision is to see youth experience hope through community, empowerment & transformation. We want our participants to experience hope through opportunities and experiences they would not otherwise have. • Young Life is made up of ordinary people who know that life was meant to be fully lived. If you're in middle school, high school or college, there's a seat at the table for you. It’s a place where we promise you three things: you'll have outrageous fun, you'll always belong and we'll talk about what really matters in life - including God's extravagant love for you. Young Life doesn't start with a program. It starts with adults who are concerned enough about kids to go to them, on their turf and in their culture, and build bridges of authentic friendship. These relationships don't happen overnight — they take time, patience, trust and consistency.

  • Cru is an interdenominational Christian ministry that was founded in 1951 with the insight that if we reach the campus of today we can change the world of tomorrow. In 1970 a local chapter was established at Syracuse University. The vision of Syracuse Cru is: "To take the gospel where it's not and raise up disciples who will love the Lord for life." It is a joy to come alongside college students and help them develop their faith, leadership skills, and character. Thankful to be a local partner of Eastern Hills, we are blessed by your prayers and involvement. You could commit to regularly praying for Cru, cooking a meal for an event or even volunteering directly with students.

global Partners

Eastern Hills is involved in global missions in three primary ways: mission partnerships, prayer support, and service opportunities. Each of our mission partners is a person or organization that shares a common vision and commitment to fulfilling the Great Commission. The greatest thing we can offer these partners aside from monetary support is prayer. To find out about organizations that we are coming alongside, click below.

There could be a drop down list called “Global Partners” that give the people we partner with. They could then be links to the organizations’ website.

  • Wycliffe Bible Translators’ vision is for people from every language to understand the Bible and be transformed! Our mission is to serve with the global body of Christ to advance Bible translation and work together so people can encounter God through his Word. If you want to know why people should have the Bible in their own language watch this short video. We were sent out by Eastern Hills in 2000 to serve in Niger, Africa, and then again in 2004 to the Wycliffe USA Headquarters. We are grateful to EHBC for allowing us to be strategic partners with you all these years!

We invite you to visit the headquarters in Orlando, FL, or join the Wycliffe prayer team for Bibleless people groups on our website. Contact Rick at rick_chiesa@wycliffe.org for more information.
